Video conferencing allows you to conduct meetings over a distance by means of audio and video.  It consists of a video screen and a camera on both ends.  By sitting in front of the screen and camera the people on the other side can see and hear you , and you are able to see and hear them at the same time.  Placing a video call is a lot like placing a telephone call.  After you connect, you see the other person in color video and may be able to transfer files or collaborate via options such as document sharing or whiteboarding.  The video frame rate varies from 5 - 30 frames per second, depending on the connection, hardware, and software.
